If the Devil had a podcast, it would be one of the biggest podcasts in the world—and some Christians would be his biggest supporters.
He would appear as an angel of light. He would present himself as a podcaster who exposes darkness. He would act like a truth-teller and an enemy of lies. He would say that he is a conservative and a Catholic. He would say, ‘Christ is King’, and print the words on T-shirts and mugs.
He would say, “This is not my platform. I genuinely believe this is God’s platform. I am a conduit.”
He would quote scripture, not as a profession of genuine faith but as a means for profit. He would fiercely condemn Black Lives Matter and woke ideology—though he would sometimes use their tactics against white critics.
Though he is a devil masquerading as an angel of light, he would oppose transgender men who masquerade as women; he would oppose gender ideology. He would also claim to hate homosexual “marriages” and threats to traditional families, despite his support for his homosexual friends’ producing children through IVF surrogacy.
He would say all the things Christians and conservatives want to hear, but this would be a trap. He would scratch our itching ears and say just enough good things to keep us from discerning the danger within his other messages. He wouldn’t want his audience to know that, as the Devil, his name means “slanderer”.
Since he is a slanderer, his podcast would be filled with gossip and slander. He would break the ninth commandment and bear false witness against people. He would masquerade his sin as investigative journalism to deceive undiscerning people.
And above all, as the accuser of the brethren, he would accuse our Christian brothers and sisters of horrible sins. He wouldn’t provide any evidence for his claims; he would say, “I am just asking questions.”
The kind of questions he asked Eve in the Garden of Eden.
If the Devil had a podcast, it would be called Candace.
